Setting up an IPTV player lawfully on Android TV

Updated 2026-10-20

IPTV clients are players: TiviMate, IPTV Smarters and similar apps ship zero channels. You supply a playlist from a provider you have a legitimate subscription with.

A lawful provider is usually your ISP's TV service, a licensed regional broadcaster, or a paid service that states its content licensing. If a provider advertises thousands of channels for a few dollars a month, it is not licensed.

On the technical side, use a wired connection for live TV if you can. A 15 Mbit/s H.264 stream is easy; the stutter people blame on IPTV is almost always Wi-Fi jitter or a slow box.

How to install

  1. Get a subscription from a provider that states its licensing.
  2. Sideload your chosen IPTV client.
  3. Enter the provider's playlist URL or Xtream credentials.
  4. Load the EPG and switch the stream to wired Ethernet for live channels.

FAQ

Does CleanYourTV provide IPTV channels or subscriptions?

No. We ship a launcher and write guides. We do not sell, bundle or link to IPTV subscriptions, and we cannot advise on providers beyond telling you to use one that is licensed in your country.
