Install it on this set

Fire OS needs one setting changed before an APK can install. The full walkthrough is the Fire TV install guide linked from the model section; the short version:

1. Settings → My Fire TV → About, then click the device name seven times. Developer Options appears in the same menu.
2. Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → Install unknown apps, and turn it on for Downloader.
3. Install Downloader from the Amazon Appstore, open it, and paste the APK address from the download page.
4. The app lands under Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications. Open it once from there, then press Home.

If it will not install

A sideloaded app not appearing on the home row is expected behaviour, not a failed install: Fire OS lists it under Manage Installed Applications instead.

"App not installed" on an older stick usually means the Fire OS build is below the launcher's minimum Android version. The version is under Settings → My Fire TV → About.

Amazon occasionally removes or blocks a sideloaded app after a system update. Reinstalling the same APK restores it; there is nothing to repair on the file itself.

If Downloader cannot reach the address, it was mistyped or the network blocks it. Opening the same address in Silk is the quickest way to tell which.

Why there is one package

The launcher does not vary by panel. Building a separate binary per model would produce hundreds of files with identical contents that nobody can tell apart. What the model page adds is this set's install notes, its error messages and its remote, not another binary.
