Tailscale

Tailscale puts the TV on your private network without opening ports on the router. Point Plex, Jellyfin or Kodi at the home server's Tailscale address and it works from a hotel or a second home.

The Android TV build has no always-on VPN slot on most boxes, so it connects as an app-level VPN and stays active while the process lives.

1. Sideload the Tailscale Android APK
2. Sign in with the same account as your home server
3. Point your media app at the server's 100.x address
