Plex turns a folder of files into a browsable library with artwork, summaries and subtitle search. The Android TV client is one of the best 10-foot interfaces available and navigates entirely by remote.
The TV app is a client only: you run Plex Media Server on a computer or NAS, and the TV connects to it. Direct play avoids transcoding, which matters a lot on the modest CPUs inside TV boxes.
Plex also offers free ad-supported channels, so the app is useful even before you set up a server.

- Install Plex from Google Play on the TV.
- On a computer, install Plex Media Server and add your media folders.
- Sign in to the same Plex account on both.
- The TV app finds the server automatically on the same network.
常見問題
Plex or Jellyfin on a TV box?
Plex is easier to set up and has better remote streaming out of the box. Jellyfin is fully free and self-hosted with no account. Both have solid Android TV clients; pick Jellyfin if you want no third-party account.
