The nightly build of VLC ships codec updates weeks before the Play Store version. Useful when a new release of a show uses a container the stable build still rejects.
It installs alongside the stable app only if you use a different package; otherwise it upgrades in place and can be rolled back by reinstalling the store version.
Как установить
- Download the Android TV nightly APK from the VLC nightly builds page
- Sideload it over the existing VLC install
- Check Playback → Hardware decoding if 4K stutters
