AirPlay receiver

Android TV has no built-in AirPlay receiver, so an Apple device cannot mirror to it out of the box. A third-party receiver app fills that gap: it advertises itself on the network and appears in the iOS screen-mirroring list.

Expect latency of a few hundred milliseconds. That is fine for slides and video, but not for games, where a wired or Google Cast path is better.

These apps hold a listening socket, so check what network they bind to and prefer one that keeps everything on the local subnet.

1. Enable installs from unknown sources for your file manager.
2. Sideload the receiver APK and open it once.
3. Keep the app running; it must stay in the foreground or as a service.
4. On the iPhone, open Control Centre, Screen Mirroring, and pick the TV.
