YouTube for Android TV is the version Google ships for televisions: large thumbnails, a watch queue that works with a D-pad, and playback that keeps going when the screen sleeps. It is preinstalled on many certified boxes and available from Google Play on the rest.
On a launcher like CleanYourTV it appears as a normal tile. Because it declares the standard LEANBACK_LAUNCHER category, no special setup is needed: install it and it lands in the app grid on the next refresh.
If your box ships without Google Play, you can sideload the TV build, but sign-in then depends on Google Play Services being present. On devices without Play Services, the TV build will open and then fail at the account step, which is why we recommend a certified device for YouTube specifically.
Cómo instalarlo
- Open Google Play on your TV and search for YouTube.
- Select the official app by Google LLC, then Install.
- Open it once so the launcher can pick up the new activity.
- Press Home; CleanYourTV refreshes the app grid automatically.
